Recreational

Recreational football emphasizes participation, enjoyment, sportsmanship, skill development, safety, and teamwork. The goal is for players to learn and love the game.

Our recreational teams are formed by Rush staff and coached by parent volunteers using a “neighborhood” concept, as close to the elementary school boundaries of the local school districts as possible. All recreational teams will be coached by a parent volunteer. This parent must have a child on the team. Rush staff will support this parent volunteer with coach training tools and pre-prepared training sessions to ensure a great environment for the players.

Volunteers

Volunteers are essential to the operation of our recreational teams. Each team needs a parent volunteer to act as manager and coach.

Parent volunteers receive a $30 discount on player registration.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach or team manager, please fill out the volunteer form and our Recreation Program Director will contact you!

  • Volunteer trainer

Each team is required to provide a volunteer coach to coach the team for the season. This person is almost always the parent of a player on the team. The coach will be provided with the Rush curriculum and a coaching kit.

  • Volunteer group leader

This role is very important to help our teams have a successful season! We ask that each team provide a team manager for the season to help with communication and organization.

I want to become a volunteer.

four seasons

Each season will be an exciting journey of play based on skill, coordination and passion for the game. Players will be active and engaged, gaining confidence and excitement for the game. Seasons last eight weeks and include one practice and one game per week. We play outdoor in the spring and summer, indoor futsal in the fall and indoor soccer in the winter.

Domestic league

What is an intramural league? A league where teams only play teams within the same program. No need to travel to an away game. Simple Rush vs Rush setup.

The Micro Division of our recreational program is an exciting, fun, and energetic indoor league for players ages 4-8! Teams will be formed based on age, teammate requests, and coach requests. Rush aims to promote a safe, fun, and educational experience for your child, as well as build a strong foundation for life skills.

Uniform

All players who returned to their uniforms from last season will not need to order a new one!

All new players in the U6-U9 age group or players who have outgrown their previous uniform will be required to purchase a new uniform.

Uniforms cost an additional $30 and include a home jersey, an away jersey and a pair of shorts.

Buy a uniform

Players of all ages will be required to provide their own shin guards and athletic shoes, preferably soccer cleats. Cleats from other sports, such as baseball or football, are not accepted.
