Year-round season

Competitive teams are formed each summer through open tryouts and evaluations. Players are accepted to their team for one year (12 months) from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.

The competitive program requires travel to local, regional, and/or out-of-state tournaments. Individual teams compete at different levels depending on the competitive needs of the players involved.

U11-U19 teams

In the U11-U19 age groups, there is a first team (Rush), a second team (Nero) and a third team (Azul) in each age group, if numbers allow. In the U9-U10 age groups, there is a first team (Blue), a second team (White) and a third team (Grey) in each age group, if numbers allow. This level is called the Youth Academy. In either case, players have made the decision to play competitive football and are placed based on their passion, needs and abilities.

Player locations

Every year in late May and early June, football clubs hold their annual tryouts to place players in the team according to their abilities. These tryouts take hundreds of man-hours to test hundreds, perhaps thousands, of players in a short period of time. While most players get a phone call and land their rightful place, many fail, some are unable to attend these tryouts, and many are too nervous to show their true abilities.

When we look at athletes, we measure their technical and tactical abilities, as well as their physical and psychological qualities. The trial period does not allow us to accurately evaluate players. For these reasons, players will be observed throughout the year by the team's head coach and coaching director during practices and games. They will then be more accurately placed in the Rush system. The evaluation will be based on the above components in addition to attendance, attitude, team chemistry and consistency, etc.

Commissions

Competition fees vary by season ($1500 to $1800 per year). Payment is possible in 3-4 installments each season. Additional customizable payment plans can be requested.

Financial assistance is available for those in need. All fees include Rush fee, player registration fee, regular field rental and maintenance costs, tournament fee, Veo video fee, Teamsnap fee.

Fees DO NOT include referee fees, coach travel expenses, uniforms, and winter league (optional).

Player's path

Our competitive program exists to provide any player, regardless of ability, with the opportunity to elevate their game to the pinnacle of their potential. Additional divisions within our competitive program provide our top-tier players with more elite playing opportunities. For our top players, their goals should include playing on their respective Rush Academy DPL (girls) or ECNL (boys) teams, Rush Select XI regional teams, and Rush Select XI national teams.

As for our club, our aim is to push our players to achieve the “next level” by allowing our members as many opportunities as possible within our local club and the national Rush network to improve their overall game, whilst providing an unrivalled youth football experience.
